The single wall construction is currently used extensively throughout industry, applications include commercial wiring, avionics, satellites, aircraft, helicopters, ships, trains, offshore platforms and high performance military and motorsport electronics or wherever there is a demand for reliable performance under extreme conditions. The dual wall airfame construction is commonly used on numerous commerical and military aircraft programmes throughout the world.

SPEC 55 wire is insulated with modified radiation cross-linked ETFE polymer. It has a temperature rating of -65°C to 200°C [-85°F to 392°F] continuous using a
silver plated copper conductor, and combines theeasy handling of a flexiblewire with excellent scrapeabrasion and cut-through characteristics. The dual wall airframe construction of SPEC 55 wire is currently used on numerousaircraft programs and is not susceptible to UV and moisture degradation.
