Our 8mm Black Vidaflex SD550 Silicone Coated Glass Braid is rated to 4.0kV and is highly flexible braided sleeving that delivers reliable insulation and protection for electrical wiring. Resistant to moisture, oils, fuels, and mild chemicals, it’s built to perform in demanding environments.

The Vidaflex S500 grades display a high degree of flexibility over the temperature range -60'C to +250'C and will operate continuously at 180'C with a short term rating of 250'C.

Extensive use in high temperature rated domestic appliances, heating appliances and central heating boilers. Their use is for primary and secondary insulation and for the protection of cables and components in high heat zones.

The Vidaflex S500 series are employed in Class H rated rotating machines for winding lead out and joint insulation and the mechanical toughness ensures their suitability for the insulation of winding leadouts, enabling the enamelled winding wire to be led directly to the terminal box. The Vidaflex S500 series are used extensively in the construction of wiring harnesses for use in motor vehicles. Grades are available with electric strengths from 1.0 to 10.0kV, Vidaflex SD550 & S550 is 4.0kV grade.

Difference Between S550 & SD550

S550 is UL Recognised Material & Is further rated as resistant to ozone & ultraviolet radiation.
SD550 is not UL Recognised.
