HILEXH Fibreglass Exhaust Heat Wrap Kit (50mm x 3mm) – White
In stock
SKU : HILEXH-50.0-3.0-9-CLS WHITE + HTP-SST3816-CABLE-TIE-10PCS
Optimise your vehicle's performance with the HILEXH Fibreglass Exhaust Heat Wrap Kit, designed by Hilltop Products to effectively control and reduce the heat emitted by your exhaust system.
The heat wrap ensures that exhaust gases remain hot for an extended period, improving the speed at which they exit the exhaust system, and this decreases back pressure, boosting horsepower and torque.
Our exhaust wrap works to keep heat within the exhaust pipes, resulting in a significant reduction in under-bonnet temperatures—by as much as 70%.
Why is this important? It leads to a decrease in intake temperatures which directly correlates to increased power output.
Elevates engine performance
Lowers under-bonnet temperatures
Boosts fuel efficiency
Resistant to a wide range of automotive fluids and chemicals
Provides protection against extreme heat for components and bodywork
Delivers exceptional thermal protection, up to 3002 degrees ˚Fahrenheit
Can endure a working temperature of 1202˚ degrees Fahrenheit continuously but can resist 1994˚ degrees for up to 20 seconds and even up to 3002˚F for 15-30 seconds.
Our Hilexh kits come supplied with either 5 or 10 metres of our white HILEXH Fibreglass Exhaust Wrap, and include 10 stainless steel Cable Ties to ensure your wrap is secured tightly.
The kit is ideal for both performance fans and everyday drivers, and contains everything you need for insulating exhaust downpipes and manifolds, ensuring they stay fixed in place.
Why heat wrap exhausts?
Heat Management: It manages and minimises the dispersal of heat from the exhaust system, preserving the engine bay's temperature and preventing heat-related complications.
Performance Improvement: Keeping the heat within the exhaust system ensures gases remain hot and exit quickly, reducing back pressure and improving the engine's power output. A cooler engine bay also means better overall functioning and less power loss due to high temperatures.
Protection of Components: The wrap serves as a heat shield for adjacent parts that might otherwise be damaged by the high temperatures of the exhaust system. It safeguards wiring, hoses, and sensors from heat exposure and prevents issues like vapour lock, which can hinder fuel delivery and engine performance.
Fuel Efficiency: Smooth exhaust gas flow aids in better fuel combustion, backpressure reduction, and exhaust gas velocity, which means you get better engine efficiency and, potentially, improved fuel economy.
Mitigation of Heat Soak: The wrap helps to limit the heat absorbed by surrounding parts and the engine bay, helping faster cooling, and reducing problems associated with high temperatures during subsequent starts.
The wrap is provided in a bandage-like form for easy application, promoting enhanced flow and performance. The included stainless steel cable ties ensure a firm and reliable hold of the wrap, which can be applied at each joint of the exhaust after installation.
How to apply exhaust heat wrap – a quick 6 point guide.
Remove the exhaust and clean off any rust etc.
If you have some, coat the exhaust in a rust inhibitor.
Moisten the wrap a little and then begin wrapping, securing the tail end with one of the supplied cable ties and keeping the engine end covered with the next layer.
Keep wrapping, moistening as you go and keeping it tight.
Wrap close to the exhaust header, using a cable tie. You might need two at the engine end for stability.
Refit the exhaust and run the engine for twenty minutes to burn off any moisture and tighten the wrap
Secure your exhaust system with the HILEXH Heat Wrap Kit for improved performance and protection.
