Opening up 250 new jobs, Jaguar Land Rover have announced that their newest model, the Land Rover Discovery Sport, is to be produced at their Halewood plant in Liverpool!
With these new jobs bumping Halewood’s workforce up to an impressive 4750 employees, this is an uplifting story of local success. Halewood is already home to the Range Rover Evoque starting back in 2011. Within two years the plant had produced a record 200,000 vehicles and the model still sees success today. So much so that the Halewood workforce has more than tripled in numbers since 2010.
Dr Ralf Speth, CEO of Jaguar Land Rover, had this to say:
“The Land Rover Discovery Sport is the next in a line of exciting new products to come from Jaguar Land Rover. I am delighted that Halewood – and Liverpool – has been selected for this new investment. It is totally deserved, and strengthens the ‘special relationship’ that bonds Jaguar Land Rover to this great city”.
