PFA Tubing (perfluoroalkoxy alkanes) has wide chemical resistance and mechanical performance at high temperatures. It can be used in some of the harshest applications, and for those requiring more clarity, flexibility and a higher continuous working temperature. PFA Tubing is inherently pure due to low-off gas offset and complies with FDA and USP regulations regarding food contact and material biocompatibility.
PFA Tubing has wide chemical resistance and mechanical performance at high temperatures. Thus, PFA tubing can be used in some of the harshest applications, and for those requiring more clarity, flexibility and a higher continuous working temperature.
This tubing gives better performance in high pressure or high-temperature applications than PTFE, with a working temperature from -200°C to +260°C. In comparison to PTFE Tubing, perfluoroalkoxy provides enhanced short term pliability, tensile strength and transparency. It also offers a similar dielectric constant and comparable chemical and temperature resistance to polytetrafluoroethylene. This PFA Tubing is slightly inferior to PTFE in applications that are subject to repeated folding due to having a lower long term flex life.
PFA tubing can be delivered in smooth or convoluted design (spiral or parallel), in metric, inch and AWG sizes. Delivery possible on straight lengths, cut lengths, coils or spools or striped/marked.
Commonly used in food, drink and pharmaceutical applications that require a clear, non-toxic carrier or to convey highly aggressive chemicals and solvents. PFA tubing can also be used as electrical cable sleeving due to its dielectric properties or in compressed air applications.
