LEISTER is pleased to have launched the new Weldplast S1 Compact Hand Extruder, as an addition to the well-established and respected Weldplast S2. The notable differences between the two extruders are mainly down to size and weight.

Without compromising welding performance LEISTER tasked itself to develop a hand extruder that could be used primarily with one hand rather than two, similar to the Weldmax of the late 1980’s but using the same new component technology as the S2. It was also noted that many of LEISTER’s extruders are used for fabricating in small and often dark spaces, and the new machine would also be required to be well balanced as well as compact.
After two years in development, the new Weldplast S1 has shed a significant 1.1kg in weight lighter than the larger S2 and is well balanced by the virtue of the centralised hand grip. For working in tight corners and for lighting up darker areas the S1 introduces an LED lighting system at the front of the extruder. The Weldplast S1 ensures reproducible results and efficiency enabling the operator to set and control welding parameters for a diversity of different materials including PE, PP, PVC, PA and PVDF, providing variable and adjustable controls of temperature and blower speeds independently of each other.
With the new WELDPLAST S1 compact extrusion welder, you can achieve perfect seam quality with plate thicknesses of 4 to 12 mm and a maximum output power of 0.8 kg / 1.8 lbs. per hour (PVC: up to 1.15 kg / 2.5 lbs. per hr.) The double-sided, twist-free wire intake can work with 3 to 4 mm welding rod. Integrated LED lighting, plus the innovative operating panel, are the perfect ways to monitor the process of welding all typical kinds of materials (such as PE, PP, PVC, PA, PVDF or ECTFE) – at all times. The ergonomic design, which offers several grip positions and holding options, allows you to work in comfort in areas that are difficult to access.
