Strong-Ty™ Kynar® cable ties made from PVDF are ideal for environments where combinations of high temperature, corrosion, radiation or mechanical stress limit other materials. These cable ties are durable and resist abrasion and mechanical damage during and after installation. With minimal flame-spread and smoke-generation Strong-Ty™ cable ties meet the National Electrical Code (NFPA-70A) and UL94V-0 requirements for installation in building plenum.
One of the advantages of PVDF is that it strengthens upon exposure to ionizing radiation. This also makes the cable ties an excellent choice for Medical applications where parts are exposed to a Cobalt 60 source for the purpose of sterilization.

In addition to excellent chemical resistance, Kynar PVDF is also rated for flame resistance. These cable ties would also be an excellent choice for bundling wire cables in plenum spaces, automobiles and airplanes.
Unlike PA66 (nylon), Kynar PVDF will not burn in environment with less than 40% oxygen and does not suffer from the effects of water absorption.
Excellent resistance to radiation allows sterilization of Strong-Ty™ Kynar® cable ties for high-purity applications without loss of mechanical properties. Strong-Ty™ Kynar® cable ties are manufactured and packaged in a clean room according to ISO 13485 procedures.
