Made of EPDM rubber offering good mechanical, insulation and sealing protection accommodating a wide range of cable sizes for indoor or outdoor applications.
3M Cold Shrink Network Rail cable joints are used for the cable jointing and cable terminating of track feeder cables. Cold shrink insulator designed for primary insulation of solid dielectric insulated wires and cable splicing rated to 1000V. It is also suitable for insulating secondary splices, direct-buried or submersible and dig-in repairs.
Open-ended tubular sleeve provides ozone, acids and alkalis resistance
Simple installation which requires no tools
2:1 shrink ratio
Environmental sealing for communication and other non-electrical applications
3M Cold Shrink Tubes are made from EPDM rubber, expanded onto a removable supporting plastic core providing a permanent radial seal, expanding and contracting with the cable under load conditions.
The 3M Cold Shrink can be used for rail cable sealing, insulation and protection and is approved by Network Rail for live rail terminations and inline cable joints for DC track feeder cable applications.
Physical protection and moisture sealing for high voltage, air-insulated connectors and lugs such as spacer cable and lug connections to bus bar. The seal tight retains its resilience and pressure even after prolonged years of ageing and exposure
3M LO42 Cold Shrink cable sleeving requires no hot-work permit or special tools for installation.
