To retain the feeling of authenticity, RBW partnered with British Motor Heritage and use original tooling to produce brand new body shells, manufactured to the original specifications. The fully electric models developed by RBW are transforming the future of automotive design and changing the way that we think about classic cars.
The RBW Roadster is built to innovate the automotive sector. Each car is individually tailored, thanks to their in-house paint and trim experts who can fulfil your unique requirements. With 15 body paint options and a multitude more for the roof, leather interior and wheels, there are hundreds of different combinations to choose from. This really makes the car your own, adding to the unique feel and allowing the customer to fully express their individuality.
The story so far
RBW were established in 2017 by Peter Swain, who saw the potential for an electric car that had all the benefits of a modern vehicle, but with the aesthetic appeal of a beautiful, classic car, and so RBW Electric Cars was born.
Their Roadster Model was test driven by James May, Top Gear and The Grand Tour presenter, in 2022, who said “The thing that most people like about classic cars is the way that they look. History has filtered out the ugly cars and we are left with the nice ones like the MGB; it’s a nice looking car. They’re part of the history of art and design and people want to celebrate that, so why not electrify them to make them more usable. A lot of DriveTribe fans will say it’s not a proper car unless its got a manual gearbox, no power steering and the brakes don't work and all the rest of it but most people don’t care about that they just want to drive around looking a bit cool”
Fast forward to today and RBW have sold well over 300 cars with showrooms in London, Hong Kong & Bermuda, with plans to launch in the US in August 2024.
