Flexible PVC marine-grade battery cable with tinned EN:50363-4-1 copper conductors. This design makes it ideal for marine and other tough enviroments where plain copper may corrode. It can also be used as a welding cable.
Highly flexible and easy to route in tight spaces.
Thinner insulation provides significant weight and space savings
Excellent resistance to petrol, lubricating oil, and diluted acids
Outstanding corrosion resistance
Why Tinned Copper?
In harsh environments low voltage copper cables corrode over time, the copper oxidises turning black and in salt water environments copper forms a carbonate layer (turquoise). Both these elements cause the cable to have a decreased electrical conductivity. Eventually the cable weakens and causes electrical faults and failures.
This cable has been specifically engineered to address these issues. The copper conductors are tin-plated, offering excellent corrosion resistance, whether exposed to moisture, water, or saltwater, over both short and long periods. As a result, Tinned Copper cables have a significantly longer lifespan compared to standard cables, reducing repair and maintenance costs and minimizing downtime caused by electrical faults or failures.
Available in Black, Red & Yellow
Black or yellow cables can be used to indicate the negative side of the circuit in any DC electrical installation. However, if an AC electrical system is also present in the same craft, yellow cable MUST be used for the negative side of the DC system. This is a safety measure to help engineers and maintenance personnel easily differentiate between the AC and DC circuits.
